Ingredients
- 2 cups Flour
- 1/3 cup Sugar
- 3 tsp Baking Powder
- ½ tsp Salt
- 1 beaten Egg
- ¾ cup Milk
- 3 tbs Oil
- garnish Icing Sugar

Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Whisk or sift together until evenly mixed.
- In a separate bowl, mix the beaten egg, milk and oil until smooth. Add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture and stir gently until a smooth batter forms.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to about 185°C / 365°F, ensuring the oil is hot but not smoking.
- Using a teaspoon, carefully drop small portions of batter into the hot oil, working in batches so the pan is not overcrowded. Fry, turning occasionally, until golden brown on all sides.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. While still warm, roll in icing sugar or serve as is.
