Sugar Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cup Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ½ cup Plain Flour
  • 1 1/2 cups Milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C / 350°F. Grease a 9-inch pie dish with butter.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the brown sugar and softened butter together until smooth and completely lump-free. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract and salt. Gradually beat in the flour, then slowly add the milk, mixing until a smooth, creamy batter forms.
  4. Pour the filling into the prepared pie dish and level the surface.
  5. Bake for about 35 minutes. Remove the pie, cover the edges with foil to prevent over-browning, then return to the oven for a further 15 minutes, until the centre is set and a thin crust has formed on top.
  6. Allow the pie to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
