Big Mac

Ingredients

  • 400g Minced Beef
  • 2 tbs Olive Oil
  • 2 Sesame Seed Burger Buns
  • Chopped Onion
  • 1/4 Iceberg Lettuce
  • 2 sliced Cheese
  • 2 large Dill Pickles
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp White Wine Vinegar
  • Pinch Pepper
  • 2 tsp Mustard
  • 1 1/2 tsp Onion Salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika

Instructions

  1. Start by preparing a classic-style burger sauce. In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, white wine vinegar, mustard, onion salt, garlic powder, and paprika. Add a pinch of ground pepper and salt to taste. Mix well until smooth, then refrigerate the sauce to allow the flavours to develop.
  2. While the sauce is chilling, prepare the beef patties. Season the minced beef with salt and pepper, then divide it into four equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball, place it on a piece of baking paper, and gently flatten into thin round patties about 15 cm in diameter.
  3. Heat a large frying pan over high heat and add the olive oil. Cook the patties in batches for 1–2 minutes on each side, until lightly charred and cooked through. Remove the cooked patties from the pan and keep warm, then repeat with the remaining patties.
  4. Carefully slice each sesame seed bun horizontally into three layers. Lightly toast the cut sides in a toaster or on a dry pan until golden.
  5. To assemble the burgers, spread a small amount of sauce over the bottom bun. Top with chopped onion, shredded iceberg lettuce, a slice of cheese, a beef patty, and a few slices of dill pickle. Place the middle bun on top and spread with more sauce, then add more onion, lettuce, pickles, and the second beef patty. Finish with another small amount of sauce and top with the bun lid.
  6. Serve the burgers immediately while warm. This homemade burger is inspired by a classic American-style sandwich and is intended for personal, home cooking.
